Dr. Heather Hanson is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow supervised by Dr. Maureen Ashe in the Department of Family Practice at UBC. Dr. Hanson completed her studies in health and aging from St. Francis Xavier (BA Human Kinetics) and The University of Western Ontario (MA Kinesiology and PhD Health and Rehabilitation Sciences). Her previous research investigated the psychosocial factors associated with aging, particularly in relation to older adults' decision to take part in health promotion and injury prevention programming. Dr. Hanson's current research collaborations continue to explore the health and mobility of community-dwelling older adults. In addition to understanding individuals' health behaviours, she also has an interest in understanding the conditions contributing to effective health program sustainability.
